Hi, I'm Aurelija, the Founder of Olla Bag

I'm a mum of two. In 2017 I was working in Marylebone, central London, and most evenings I'd head home with groceries, gym clothes and everything else the day had added. I needed something to carry it all that still looked good. A classic shopping trolley just wasn't my style, and I couldn't find anything better on the market.

So I decided to create it myself. I sat down with a notebook and sketched it out: a bag with a firm base covered in leather, wheels on one side, and a body that unfolds into a bigger shopping bag when you need more space.

But I was busy building my career in accountancy, so the idea stayed on paper.

Where it al began

These are the very first pages, handwritten in 2017. Looking at them now, the heart of Olla was there from the start: a handbag for the morning, a trolley for when the day fills up.

Four years to get it right

Development with my first partner didn't progress the way I'd hoped, so I went looking for a team who could take Olla all the way. I found Centreline, an industrial product design agency whose wide range of services covered every stage, from design and engineering to prototyping. Together we spent four years designing, testing and refining every detail, from the wheels and base to the leather lid and strap.
